    Update

Watched the newly released movie "A Christmas Carol" in 3D. Like it very much. It's more like a Halloween movie with all those ghosts and spirits in it. :P But I really love the Christmas hymns. Feels like Christmas is just around the corner (Plus I watched the annual Christmas Parade in Toronto on TV yesterday, Santa is back in town!).

    The Mid-Autumn Festival

    Happy Mid-Autumn Fest to everyone!

Learned a bit of merengue, rumba and more salsa at my 3nd dancing classes. Got a really great partner this time. We both enjoyed the class, practised a lot and learned quite well.

Came to loo for career fair events. Talked to some representatives, collected some info, and ran into some old friends. Visited Barbara and Ophelia, had a great time and loved the dinner. :D

Thxgiving is coming. I'm planning to make turkey again this year. The dinner menu will be salad, rosemary roasted turkey, mushroom turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, maybe some boiled veggies and pecan pie. :D Will invite friends. :)

    @ loo again cont'd

Watched G-Force in 3D last night. 3D movie is just so cool. The movie is funny, and those guinea pigs are so cute. :D

Went to the campus today, visited the lab where I used to volunteer, met Jin and other lab members. Jin was very busy with experiments today. I offered to help her. I haven't done any bench work since I left UW. I personally really love doing experiments and miss those old days. I had lots of fun today helping Jin. And Jin treated me to lunch for Korean food. :D I also met Chengcheng and Donnie afterwards and had a great time chatting. :)

    @ loo again

It's always fun to be back in loo, even only for a week or so. I arrived last Tues, watched Transformers 2 on Wed, visited Barbara's family on Thurs, baked a green tea cake for my friend's bday on Fri, watched Harry Potter on Sat, went to visit my mom's friends in Richmood Hill and watched Marley & Me yesterday, and probably will visit some other friends of mine today and tmr. :)

Although majortiy ppl that I know don't like the new Transformers, but I kinda like it. I don't like the new Harry Potter that much though. It was quite a long movie with a sad ending. I was expecting more, like Harry and his friends would go searching something and fight back. Marley & Me is a funny but touching story. :)

I was very happy to see Ophelia again! Barbara and Bob took me to an Indian restaurant for dinner. I had Biryani for the first time. It tasted sooooo good! :D

P.S. It has been 4 yrs since I frist landed in CA.

    @ loo 3

I went to the UW campus, and especially went to the lab where I used to volunteer. I was so happy to meet Jin, Youai and Zhengyu there, and was very surprised to see Bernie there too! :) I haven't met those old friends for almost two years! We talked and talked, so many hours passed by before I noticed it was already late. So happy!!! :D

As I wrote in Xiaonei, although loo is only a small city, there is my favorite sushi buffet, there is my favorite study place (the big tables in DC), there is sweet Ophelia, and there are lots of beautiful memories and close friends of mine. I'm going back to Mac tmr. I suddenly feel that although I like Mtl, much better than TO, loo, however, is the place that gives me the feelings of a home.

    @ loo 2

I had a great time visiting Barbara's family yesterday. I was so happy to see Ophelia again after quite a long time. She loves the squeaky bone I bought for her! :D Barbara made great home-made pasta salad (had pasta, olives, cherry tomatoes, sausages and small mozzarella cheese cubes, sooo yummy!) and BBQ big mushroom with blue cheese burger! :D We had my favorite cappuccino flavor frozen yougurt icecream and espresso after dinner. Afterwards, we watched the movie "The day after tomorrow" on the TV and had popcorns and lemon green tea. I like the movie very much, highly recommend Kaushik to watch it as well.

    @ loo

I've been in loo for a couple of days. Everything is just great! I'm having a great time with my friends. Haven't had such a long holiday for quite a while. It's such a wise decision to take a break at this difficult time! :D I feel really good and relaxed now. Chatted with my old friends, had my favorite sushi buffet (green tea icecream included! :D), had home-made hotpot, went for window shopping, watched rented movie, sat around the big tables in my favorite library (DC), etc....

    La vie très belle!

    @ Waterloo cont'd

I went to visit Barbara and Bob yesterday, and was so happy to see Ophelia and Lucy again! Ophelia loves the new octopus toy I gave her. She carried it everywhere and didn't let me take it away from her. She gave me lots of kisses as always. :) I had a great time talking with Barbara and Bob, They took me to a special restaurant called Village Creperie which features in French crepe with various kinds of organic foods. I had Poulet chimichurri which has "garlic balsamic roasted chicken breast, topped with aged white cheddar, mozzarella, green onion, and chimichurri dressing". I also had a special kinda dessert called les flambées. I had Pomme au Miel which is "crêpe de froment and caramelized organic apples & honey flambéed with cognac and topped with crème fraîche and chocolate". The food there was so good! We went to the Waterloo Busker Carnival after dinner. I was so excited to see the fire eating and some other dances for the first time in my life.

    @ Waterloo

I arrived at Waterloo last night at around 8:30pm after a whole day bus ride. I'm so happy to return to Waterloo after quite a long time. I was so excited when the bus arrived at TO and I saw the CN Tower once again. It felt I hadn't been back "home" for so long, although it's only been half a year. I'm so looking forward to seeing my old friends again! My schedule is quite full now! lol My friend came to pick me up at the bus terminal last night when I arrived. I'll be staying at her place for the rest of the days when I'm here. She cooked a lot of delicious Chinese food for me for dinner. I loved them so much. I haven't had those food for so long! :P I guess I cooked Western food too much these days. I'm at UW campus right now, in the DC library using the desktop here. I'm gonna have a late lunch with one of my friends in 15min. I've been walking around the UW campus earlier. I'm still so familiar with everything here. They're like old friends of mine! :D I'm going to Barbara's place for BBQ tmr! I'm gonna meet Ophelia again! :D On Sunday, I'll probably go shopping and have dinner with my other two friends. And on Monday I'm going to another friend place for dinner! :D Super busy lol! :D

    Sushi & Movie night

Went for sushi buffet with my friend last night. I really love sushi! It seems everytime I come back to Waterloo, I'd go for sushi. :P And I was really happy that I ran into several friends there. Didn't get a chance to visit them on campus cos the bad weather yesterday; but anyway, I saw them there at the sushi buffet! :D My friend rent the movie "Lust, Caution" afterwards. It's a really long movie, abt 2.5 hours. Umm...it's a good movie. I really like Tony Leung Chiu-Wai. I was touched by the love between two ppl at the end, but the sex scenes before made me feel kinda uncomfortable sometimes...way too violent. Anyway, it's a worth watching movie from Ang Lee. Btw...I'm going to visit Barbara this afternoon & will head back to Mac tmr afternoon.

    Cooking

My banana cake turns out really yummy, so does my beef & potatoes stew. :D

    Back in loo

Forgot if I've mentioned earlier that it's our reading week at mcgill this week. I know lots of other universities have already done their reading week, like UW. Anyway, for this reading week, I worked for two and half a day at the beginning, and took the buses to Waterloo yesterday afternoon - only arrived after 11pm & got so tired. :( There are a couple of things I'd like to talk abt. 1st, speaking of my work, I'm totally working on my own now, sometimes even in charge of a whole mouse room. I really enjoy taking great care of those cute little creators. Most staff there are really nice to me. And lots of them really like me cos of my perfect performance. :P My trainer always calls me his best student, and always introduces me to his new students. :) 2nd, I watched the Disney movie "Enchanted" on the bus yesterday. It's an lovely movie, like most of the Disney movies. 3rd, I'm baking banana cake for my friend today & I'm gonna make beef potatoes for dinner tonight. :D I just luv cooking. :)

    Chicken Congee

Made chicken congee today, rice, chicken with peas and corns, really delicious. It was my first time making this kind of congee, well cos my friend got really sick. Anyway, I'm going back to Mtl tmr; and I'm looking forward to the start of the new term.

    Dinner again @ Friend's

Today, I went to meet the last friend I'm gonna visit before I head back to Montreal. It's a friend who I have never met before. :P He knew me through one of our mutual friend. We are all from the same university in China. He came to UW to do his master in engineering. Cos I studied in UW for the past two year, our friend referred me to him. So we got a chance to talk to each other on MSN and I gave him kinda lots of help and suggestions. Anyway, we met for the first time and I met his roommate who is also from China. They made dinner - noodles, salad and salmon. Really delicious. We had a great time chatting and they played guitar and drums. :)

    Dinner @ Hui's

I visited my friend Hui this afternoon at her place. She and her husband bought a really cute nice little house with three bedrooms, basement and a really nice backyard. Her husband was working this afternoon, so Hui and I was chatting with each other for the most of the afternoon and we played games on XBOX. It was my first time actually play video games, but I can see that I'm really good at playing games. :P I had dinner at Hui's place. She cooked four dishes: fish, shrimps and two veggies. Really delicious.

    Happy New Year! Bonne Année!

Happy New Year everyone!!! It's year 2008 now. :D Time flies.
I didn't really celebrate it this year. Well, I went to the airport with Craig to pick up his friends who came back from South Africa this noon. And then we all went to their place at Mississauga, had late lunch together at Swiss Chalet, did a little bit grocery at T&T and went back to their place. We chatted a little bit, had desserts with English tea and took a look at the pics they took back in SA. Anyway, it was a good day except it was snowing really heavily which made the driving a little bit hard.
I'm going back to Mtl this weekend. But before that, I'm going to visit one of my friend at her place tmr afternoon, and probably gonna have dinner there. And on Thursday, I'm gonna have dinner with another friend. :)

    New Year's Eve

It's the last day of 2007. Lots of my friends are writing entries about their memory of 2007. I've also had lots of good or bad memories of my 2007. As usual, I met lots of new ppl, made friends with some of them and on top of that, got to know some who are really important to me now. Besides, I graduated from both UW and CAU; went back to China for about 2 months for the first time after I came abroad; got lots of rejections from the grad schools I applied, but luckily at the end I got the only offer from the best Canadian university and got to study what I've been dreaming of for years. This new year's eve is a little bit different from what I had before. I still remember I had my new year's eve last year at Quebec, celebrated with my home-stay family. This year, there is no new year's eve feast or party; but I just came back from the treater watching "National Treasure 2" with my friend. :P Anyway, I wanna wish everyone a happy wonderful new year. I'll see you all next year. :P

    La veille de Noël

C'est la veille de Noël aujourd'hui. I had a feast with Barbara's family. We had the traditional three courses meal with all kinds of seafood. :P We had smoked salmon, different kinds of nuts, chocolates, crackers, cheese for snack; oyster stew at around 5pm; and then salad and pasta with shrimps and scallops at around 8pm. I also had Apple dumpling with icecream as the dessert. :) Everything is so delicious; and on top of that, I love seafood!!! :D Besides, I had a great time talking to Barbara's family, playing with Ophelia and watching Curtis playing around. He's the cutest baby ever!!! :D Also, I got lots of xmas gifts from Barbara's family. I love the cow key chain the most. It's soooooo cute and when you push the button for the light, it makes the cow sound! :D Anyway, I had a really great Xmas Eve. Thanks for Barbara and everyone!!! :D
